Dead Of Night

Night Screamer are a heavy metal & hard rock band from the UK formed in 2013 releasing their debut E.P. 'Hit 'N' Run' in 2014, followed by gigs at local venues in and around the London area. 2015 saw the release of their second E.P. 'Vigilante', with 2019 the year the world sees the first full length album release by Night Screamer. An almost two year recording journey has paid dividends with the release of the mighty 'Dead Of Night'.

Are you relaxed? Are you sitting comfortably? Get up you lazy people, and prepare yourself for the aural bombardment that is the new album from British sensations Night Screamer. Full of heavy hitting songs and a high dose of infectiousness, 'Dead Of Night' is chock full of traditional heavy metal, the classic sound of British metal, all played with passion and pride. The album gets off to a stunning start with the intense pace and power of 'Sacrifice'. At over six minutes in length, it is a bold move to open an album with such a long song, but 'Sacrifice' is classic NWOBHM, with duelling guitars, powerful clean vocals and a relentless rhythm. This is how British heavy metal should sound, and why so many bands around the world "adopt" its sound. The self titled song 'Night Screamer' ups the pace, power, and intensity, relentlessly rolling forth like a steam roller, flattening anything that gets in its way. Yes there are hints at the iconic sound of British stalwarts Judas Priest, but that is only a good thing. 'Night Screamer' is an explosive blast of head bang able heavy metal. 'Blood On The Wall (F***ed It Up!)' displays the iconic buzz guitar sound synonymous with the NWOBHM evolution, adding a terrifying intensity, turning 'Blood On The Wall (F***ed It Up!)' into an aggressive and in your face experience. Prepare to be scared...

By contrast, 'Hit 'N' Run' is a much more happy song, lifting the atmosphere and pummelling the senses with a heavy hitting rhythm guaranteed to keep your heads banging hard. Four songs in and the debut full length release from Night Screamer is a belter, a barrage of British heavy metal at its finest. It's great to see a British band remain British and not take on an American influence, I tip my cap to you Night Screamer and raise you the horns in appreciation. The terrifying atmosphere of earlier is brought back ten fold, with the brutal and blunt savagery that is the plodding and pulsating 'March Of The Dead'. A heavy hitting song that may floor some and knock others senseless, 'March Of The Dead' is almost cataclysmic in its delivery, leaving only desolation in its wake.

'Party With The Devil' is straight out of the eighties NWOBHM evolution. The sound is reminiscent of bands such as Angel Witch, Saxon and Raven, bombastic and full of thunder. Ballsy and chunky riffage pounds relentlessly as 'Party With The Devil' strides on, maintaining the albums overall infectiousness. Night Screamer have turned in a great performance with their debut full length offering and is a must have addition to every NWOBHM fans music collection. The intense energy levels haven't dropped for a single second of the album so far, and even though 'Paradise Lost' opens in a mellow story telling vein, the intensity shows no sign of letting up. Finally thundering into life in a dynamically doom metal style, 'Paradise Lost' is a slow burner of the heaviest proportions. Scorching pace returns to the album with the highly energetic hustle and bustle of 'Rise Above'. Get your heads banging, fists in the air and lungs at the ready to sing a long to at the tops of your voices. Foot on the monitor doesn't quite do 'Rise Above' justice, the song gallops furiously along at high velocity and smells of British from start to finish. 'Out Of My Mind' brings the curtain down on a glorious album by delivering the NWOBHM sound infused with a little brashness and attitude of punk. Yep, you heard me correct, punk... 'Out Of My Mind' is a beautifully crafted song and is a cracking end to a cracking album.

Overall, a fierce and feisty gallop of British heavy metal, one hundred percent addictive, sing a long able and a head bangers dream.
