Queen Of Sin E.P.

Mosocw are a heavy metal band from the USA featuring Moscow (real name Elizaveta Tursunova) on lead vocals. Russian born, Moscow has been a part of the music scene since she was 15 and has travelled to and lived in London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Inspiration for the band came from favourite artists Motley Crue, Aerosmith and Slash, with Moscow (the band) a blend of heavy sleaze rock, heavy metal and thrash, with hints at the progressive and grunge.

The bands debut release is the five song E.P. 'Queen Of Sin', released June 2017 and is an intriguing mix of musical styles. The title song opens the E.P. and is a swaggering storm of savage riffs and thunderous drums. The vocals are very powerful, with a death metal style growl in there too...just check out the lead vocal that leads into the chorus to hear what I mean. 'Queen Of Sin' is hard and aggressive and hits so hard walls will crumble. An absolute stonker of an opener... 'Nowhere To Hide' increases the heaviness with an awesome buzzing guitar style riff and some jack hammer style drumming. Hard rocking heavy metal, with a commercial catchiness makes 'Nowhere To Hide' a foot stompingly and head bangingly addictive romp.

After just two songs, you begin to release that Moscow (the band) are damn serious, and are delivering the goods with attitude and passion. 'Black Widow' has one of the heaviest guitar riffs this side of Black Sabbath, and is delivered with an air of sinister and mood. The vocal performance throughout 'Black Widow' is clean and clear yet very powerful, with the chorus a sing a long-able one. Mellowness greets the listener as 'Watch Me Burn' rolls in and glides gently on. Time to get those lighters out and hold them high as 'Watch Me Burn' turns in a great power ballad performance.

All too soon and the E.P. heads towards the final song, with an extreme urgency to press the replay button and have my senses pummelled into submission once again. One can only hope that a full length album is not too long in coming, but for now, 'Heartbeat' ends the E.P. in raucous fashion. The wide range of vocal styles is displayed prominently as 'Heartbeat' fizzes with energy and aggression, bristling with attitude as it rages on and on. A cracking debut release, setting a high bar for whatever is to come next...

Overall, a very hard and heavy, attitude laden and aggressive journey of savage riffs and thundering rhythms with a superb and wide ranging vocal performance.
