Razor Wire

Mean Mistreater are a heavy metal band from the USA formed in 2023 releasing their debut album 'Razor Wire' in 2024.

Featuring eight songs across a blistering twenty eight minutes, Mean Mistreater blend the sounds of legendary heavy metal bands such as Rock Goddess, W.A.S.P. and Warlock - the five piece from Texas are an unbridled barrage of heart racing riffs and powerful vocals! The bands line-up consists of bassist Jon Gibson, drummer Joaquin Ridgell, guitarists Quinten Lawson and Alex Wein, and powerhouse vocalist Janiece Gonzalez - 'Razor Wire' storming into life with the foot to the floor 'Forget It'. Mean Mistreater are at full tilt here, roaring loudly as 'Forget It' forges a savage path across the land, banging the head of every single metalhead in the world! An absolutely red hot scorcher of an opening salvo, the band rip into the title song 'Razor Wire' at a hundred fucking miles an hour - the glorious sound of traditional "foot on the monitor" heavy metal rising high in the air. Mean Mistreater have the pedal well and truly pressed to the metal to deliver a head bang-able opening one-two!

The mid tempo foot stomping style of heavy metal makes its presence felt as 'Visions' thunders into view to become a pace changing stampede, the American five-piece embodying everything great about old school metal - the style of metal in my opinion, that will just never die! It's been around for nigh on five decades, and will be around for a lot more to come - especially with bands such as Mean Mistreater keeping it alive! The band power on at top speed with 'Waiting To Die', featuring an immense head bang ability - a head bang ability that's gonna have every single mosh pit around the world turning into a frenzied sea of head banging lunatics! The breathless pace is maintained with 'Let 'Em Roll', the early eighties metal sound pouring outta 'Let 'Em Roll' like pouring rain during a monsoon! I tell ya readers, clenched fists are gonna be punching the air to salute the relentless heavy metal on show!

A show which is not over just yet, 'Bleeding The Night' entering the fray with a more hustle and bustle nature than everything heard so far - Mean Mistreater maintaining an incredible intensity level that began minute one with song one! All bar one of the eight songs on offer clock in at less than four minutes in length, paving the way for 'Razor Wire' (the album) to hurtle by in under half an hour! And the old school feel takes front and centre once more as 'One By One' surges forth with a little more melodious intent than any other song on offer, the band continuing to rock the heads back and forth of every listener, fan and follower. And clocking in at just over four minutes in length, album closer 'Bedevil' is the longest song on 'Razor Wire' (the album), and shows - or rather hears, the band delivering a more mid tempo, slightly anthemic style of metal, 'Bedevil' changing gear half way through to resume the hard hitting head bang-able heavy metal oozing out of everything that's gone before!

Overall, a blistering barrage of foot to the floor heavy metal with immense head bang ability and a sky high infectious level.
