Break It Up E.P. |
||||||
Maverick are a hard rock band from Spain formed in 2014 who have released their debut E.P. in 2015.
Mid tempo, energetic hard rock and Maverick open their debut release with 'You Must Come With Me', sounding like a blend of eighties glam and sleaze. A twin guitar attack and an infectious rhythm keep the song rocking hard and will more than likely have you tapping your feet, without you realising. 'Into The Mirror' swaggers and sways, with more than just a touch of early Whitesnake, a hard edged blues and boogie feel. Lifting the tempo and storming like a speeding bus, 'Far From Over' has European power rock written all over it with the vocalist doing his best to sound like Klaus Meine (The Scorpions).
The title song 'Break It Up' is catchy, foot tapping hard rock and once again has all the traits of glam and sleaze. Even with all the early musical style influences, Maverick have managed to create a collection of songs that are modern, and will make an impact in the music world of today. 'Love Through The Shadows' is a bombastic blast of hard rock with sparkling guitars and the best vocal performance on the E.P. The final song is a cover of the Gary Moore classic 'Out In The Fields'. Keeping it tight to the original, it is actually a very good version.
Overall, heavily influenced by the glam and sleaze eras of the late eighties and nineties, Maverick play infectious, hard hitting and catchy rock.
