Grind Against Humanity |
||||||
Maou Mindu are a death/grindcore band from Canada formed by former Besegra vocalist Max Warwick. The bands debut release is the four song demo 'Grind Against Humanity', which was released in 2017.
The opening song 'Viral Mantra' is a terrifying and brutally savage cut and thrust of deep growls and abrasive deathcore screams. The music will pound and pummel you into submission with heavy, rasping guitars that chop, chop and chop again. Cannibal Corpse is a definite influence on the style of music that Maou Mindu are delivering.
Riffs a plenty, 'Torture And Other Unpleasant Experiences' is a savage attack of deathgrind and black metal, with harsh, shrieking vocals sending shivers down the spine. Towards the end, the mood changes with a more melodic guitar solo. The one minute blast 'Pirates Of The Pancreas' is frenetic and chaotic, abrasive and angry, with the death grind growl in full flow. Fans of Napalm Death will lap this one up.
The final song, 'Skullfucking The Trepanned' is the quickest on the album, throwing a thrash metal groove into the melting pot, creating an explosive mixture of deathgrind, black metal and thrash. Brutal and highly aggressive, be careful of playing this one at maximum volume as the terrifying and blood curdling female screech late on could have the neighbours calling the police on you...
Overall, angry and aggressive, brutal and ferocious, with growled and screeched vocals, this is a very impressive debut release.
