Lovell's Blade are a hard rock band from the Netherlands formed in 2016 by three former members of (the heavy metal band) Picture - vocalist Pete Lovell and guitarists Mike Ferguson (Detonation) and Andre Wullems. Joined by drummer Noel Van Eersel (Nembrionic) and bass player Patrick Velis, the new band released its debut album 'Stone Cold Steel' in 2017. The bands sophomore album 'The Nightmare Begins' was released in 2019, with ensuing live performances with Thunder and Armored Saint. 'Deadly Nightshade' is the bands third album, and was released in 2022.

Describing their brand of hard rock as "power rock", Lovell's Blade deliver eleven heavy hitting songs over an even heavier hitting fifty minutes. The momentum the band have gained with their two previous releases, gains even more weight with the release of 'Deadly Nightshade'. Opening with the fast paced and up tempo 'Running Out Of Time', Lovell's Blade are off to a highly energetic start. 'Running Out Of Time' is head noddingly arousing, foot tappingly addictive, and put simply - a cracking way to open to your new album! Beefing up the albums sound, the band go for the heavy hitting, foot stomping style of hard rock for 'Drivin' Me Crazy'. With a slight touch of Southern rock and the blues, 'Drivin' Me Crazy' is gonna appeal to a very wide array of rock fans.

'Mystery' continues the bands diverse rock soundscape by incorporating a little AOR into its framework. The pulsating "stadium rock" style begins to rear its head high as 'Mystery' majestically swaggers on to a finish. And now Lovell's Blade go really wild - catering for the metal heads who happen to come across 'Deadly Nightshade'! Pace, power and energy are trebled as the band plant their foot well and truly on the monitor and gallop hard. The gusto with which 'The Cries Go Unheard' possesses is phenomenal, causing heads to rock back and forth at an extremely high rate. Simply breath taking! So it's time for a breather, which 'Still So Lonely' provides - a mellow intro building to a crescendo, before adopting a lazy like Sunday afternoon attitude. The gentle swagger of 'Still So Lonely' caresses the senses, hugs you tight, and makes you feel all warm and tingly inside!

And back to heavy hitting hard rock we go with 'Kalashnikov' - punching hard and kicking harder. Lovell's Blade are making the transitions between differing rock styles with so much ease - prancing all around the hard rock genre, visiting every corner, nook, and cranny! Is there no style of rock this Dutch five piece can't play? It would appear not, for 'Scarred' visits Sunday afternoons once more, bringing together AOR, Southern and classic rock. What a combination - the band making sure there's something on offer for every rock fan. And next up is the turn of sleaze and glam rock - 'It's Not Criminal' echoing the American style of bands such as Kiss and Motley Crue, and topped off with a layer of Van Halen.

Maintaining the hard rock impetus of the previous song, the band increase the energy levels and deliver the punchiest song heard so far - 'Distant Glow'. Adding a party anthem feel, Lovell's Blade are gonna welcome smiles to the faces of listeners everywhere. For 'Distant Glow' will certainly see fans faces glow with enjoyment! And without missing a beat, the band surge on with 'Dead Of Night' - their brand of power rock showing no signs of slowing down. The energy and oomph of 'Dead Of Night' combined with its heavy hitting rhythm is enough to knock you into next week! So make sure you stand tall and prepare yourself for one more rock attack - for the final song 'Generator' is now upon us. And once again the band sizzle with energy as a modern day hard rock album comes to a close without a single ballad in sight! 'Generator' sums up everything Lovell's Blade stand for - high energy, infectious hard rock to make you smile and party all night.

Overall, a sizzling red hot hard rock rampage fuelled by high levels of energy and oomph.
