If There Was Ever Any Doubt E.P.

Kovax are a hard rock band from the UK formed in 2016 releasing their debut single 'Godot' the same year. 2017 will see the release of the four song E.P. 'If Ever There Was Any Doubt'.

Energetic live performances and a rabid following have brought Kovax to the fore and in the guise of the bands four song E.P. the band have managed to recreate that live energy in the studio. Hard rocking and full of groove, 'Breathe' (literally) breathes life into the E.P. with its sharp edged, hard hitting sound. Catchy and addictive 'Breathe' is a breath of fresh air and a sparkling opening song.

'Atlas' is heavy and very hard hitting, with enough groove and melodic moments to entertain both rock and metal fans. The pace is electrifying, the vocals are clean and clear and I defy anyone to not be smiling and nodding their head in appreciation right now... 'Waves' increases the intensity and showcases the singers immense vocal range. As the E.P. has progressed, it has gotten heavier and heavier and is more metal than it is rock.

The E.P. ends in glorious fashion with the swash buckling and high intensity 'Kennel', displaying similarities in both style of music and vocals to German power metal legends Rage. The heaviness of these four songs belies the bands description of themselves as a rock band...for me they are much more of a heavy metal band.

Overall, hard hitting heavy rock that is both addictive and catchy, managing to capture the bands electrifying and energetic live performance in a studio environment.
