Kings Will Fall are a thrash metal band from Italy formed in 2013, releasing the 'Death Comes Early' demo E.P. in 2015. Delivering an aural attack of the savagely brutal nature, Kings Will Fall began writing for their debut album in 2016, the album eventually released in 2017.
Savage, brutal, aggressive and one hundred percent in your face, Kings Will Fall deliver a thirty minute barrage of breathless thrash metal. The overall lyrical concept of the bands debut album centres around wars, and their devastating and terrible consequences. The album also introduces historical World War Two film fragments to highlight the disturbing and distressing effects of wars.
The effects laden and historical film fragment filled opening instrumental 'In Dead & Mud & Misery' sets a disturbing vision of war. The pulsating and high speed 'Toxic War' scorches into life, savagely attacking the airways with its brutality. Kings Will Fall have introduced themselves to the world with a blistering aural attack of furious thrash metal. Harsher vocals accompany 'Shots For Glory' as it strides menacingly across the land, delivering a much heavier feel than the album opener. The fierce thrash metal battering is like a fusion of pioneering thrashers Slayer and Kreator, but with even more heaviness thrown in... 'Burn All Fuel' is a thunderous throb of fierceness. Very much guitar led, pace and power combine perfectly as 'Burn All Fuel' aggressively runs riot. Fast and furious, 'Endless Pain' is "foot on the monitor" style thrash metal, invoking vigorous head banging as it hurtles along at breakneck speed.
In fact, the vigorous and violent head banging required to keep pace with this album, may bring on whiplash, such is the ferocity with which Kings Will Fall deliver their brand of thrash. 'Damage Crown' is a breathless, in your face and aggressive two minutes furious foray. A "blink and you'll miss it" scenario, 'Damage Crown' also has the least harsh style vocal delivery of any song on the album. The fast pace just gets faster as the album relentlessly storms on. 'Buster' is hustle and bustle, delivered at a phenomenal pace, heads just a blur as they nod back and forth at high speed. 'Gangster 1948' maintains the furious thrash metal assault, yet also introduces a more infectious feel, dropping a little of the aggressiveness of the rest of the album. Kings Will Fall end their debut album with a cracking cover of 'We Are Motorhead' by legendary and iconic UK band Motorhead. Played at a quicker pace than the original, Kings Will Fall have added subtle touches to 'We Are Motorhead' that make it fit within their style of music.
Overall, a furious and fierce thrash metal assault, Kings Will Fall have announced themselves to the world in blistering style.
