Hollywood Heads E.P. |
||||||
Hollywood Heads are a hard rock band from Russia formed in 2013, releasing their self titled debut E.P. the same year.
Influenced by the glam and sleaze rock bands from the late eighties and early nineties such as Guns 'N' Roses and Skid Row, Hollywood Heads blaze the airways with an old school style of rock. From the off, 'Aerogrill' smacks of party rock, with a sound that is definitely a cross of glam and sleaze, but lacking the attitude of such legends as Skid Row. Powerful vocals, screaming guitars and a rough, tough, uncompromising rhythm is the standard here.
'Blood City' is an out and out sleaze rock song, more up tempo with a catchy, foot tapping rhythm and a superb guitar solo. 'Game' opens with acoustic guitars and you begin to think "here comes the ballad". But, it's a no, 'Game' trundles along with a dirty, gutter sound that you would hear in an American country bar. Again, superb guitar work and rhythms make this a very good song. Closing the E.P. is the self titled blues tinged party romp 'Hollywood Heads'.
Overall, a superb glam, sleaze, party rock E.P. with good vocals, superb guitars and foot tapping rhythms.
