Golden Arm

Haunt are a heavy metal band from the USA formed in 2017, releasing an incredible nine albums...

...in just six, very prolific years! The band are a metal machine - a well oiled and well organised machine that delivers top drawer heavy metal, time and time again. The new album 'Golden Arm' (released in 2023) may clock in at under thirty minutes in length, but the eight songs on offer are magnificent, melodic, and massively infectious! As soon as Haunt launch into the explosive album opener 'Hit And Run', you know you're in for a heavy metal treat! Barnstorming just doesn't start to describe the energy and pizzazz 'Hit And Run' has on offer - off the fucking charts is where it's at! The band are firing on all cylinders right from the off, blazing pace and a hundred percent head bang ability is the order of the day - the title song 'Golden Arm' forging forth with even more purpose and intent than the opening gambit. The blistering one-two Haunt have begun with is absolutely incredible!

The power and force of the heavy metal on offer is top notch, the album gaining an unstoppable momentum, roaring on with 'Piece By Piece' adopting the most melodic stance out of the opening treble. Haunt are in devastating mood, destroying the airways and demolishing anything and everything in sight - the American metal machine relentlessly rolling on, 'Chimera' the next heavy hitter to ruthlessly grab your attention. Every song heard so far has been a head turning blast of energy, featuring an insane infectious level - I defy anyone not to be smiling, head banging, or foot tapping right now! The band blend old school heavy metal with modern day touches to produce a bombastic barrage of exhilaration! 'Fight The Good Fight' returns the melodic swagger of earlier, planting one foot firmly on the monitor as it strides on majestically.

Every song on offer clocks in at under four minutes in length, but what they lack in time is certainly made up for in an abundance of glorious heavy metal. Fantastic one might say! And with no let up for a breather, the album storms on with the bustling 'Save Yourself', and a turn of speed that is just blinding! If you're looking for a short and sweet album to deliver a punch heavy enough to take your breath away - then this is it! Haunt don't disappoint, plundering every corner of the heavy metal genre to create a half hour of immense head bang ability. And OMG - pace and power have just gone into overdrive, the band blazing on with the fastest song on the album, 'Vacant Spaces' a booming thunderstorm of high velocity heavy metal. Bloody incredible from the American four piece! And all too soon the album offers its final hurrah - although readers, you know what the replay button was invented for, right? 'The Horse's Mouth' takes over as the fastest song on the album, and is a barnstorming end to a terrific tirade of all out heavy metal.

Overall, an infectious half hour of head bang-able heavy metal from a prolific band at the top of their game.
