Endless Horizon |
||||||
Galderia are a power metal band from France formed in 2006 releasing three albums to date - 'The Universality' (2012), 'Return Of The Cosmic Men' (2017), and 'Endless Horizon', released in 2022...
...featuring ten heavy hitting and highly melodic songs blended in a coating of symphonic power metal. It's been five years since the band graced the airways with new music - and the wait has been well worth it. 'Cause 'Endless Horizon' is a blockbuster of an album, and is gonna charge into the playlists of metal heads everywhere, quickly becoming one of their most listened to albums of the year! Roaring into life, Galderia are quickly into their stride - 'Answer The Call' a bombastic barrage of melodious metal with an infectious level that is second to none. The bands power driven power metal style is phenomenal, and warms my heart with a warmth that contains equal levels of pleasure and excitement. In fact - this style of metal reminds me of bands such as Battle Beast, Beast In Black, and Metalite.
And so where do you go after such a belter of an opening? Straight into the stratosphere with the most vertical of trajectories that's where! The band in full flight for the high velocity gallop 'Striking The Earth' - and a head bang ability that simply rockets off the scale. 'Striking The Earth' is full on and red hot - a scorcher of the highest quality. What an incredible opening double salvo. Which becomes a treble, with the energetic thunder, fire and brimstone of 'Elation' - the heaviest song heard so far. Yet the melodic intent is as high as ever, Galderia pulsating with insatiable fervour. Dropping a gear, the band glide on with 'Eternal Paradise', a more dreamy hymn-like atmosphere taking over - for the first minute or so! Then the bands emphatic oomph descends dramatically and we're hitting hard once more. 'Eternal Paradise' changing tempo and tone as it majestically strides on.
A stunning change of pace sees 'Gonna Change It All' accelerate to top speed - the power driven power metal style rising to the surface once more. And what a glorious sound it is! Galderia firing on all cylinders, pushing themselves into contention for the Album Of The Year title. The electrically charged atmosphere the band began the album with remains fully charged, as 'Come With Me Now' strides in featuring a monster of a melodious intent not heard so far. The staggering poise of 'Come With Me Now' is incredible, with the bands legions of fans and followers in heavy metal heaven right now. Ecstatic is a mighty understatement of just how much an effect this album is having on everyone. And we're off and running again, this time with the bouncy and bombastic 'Burning Higher', forging a furrow of infectiousness deeper than anything heard so far. The smiles 'Endless Horizon' (the album) is planting on the faces of listeners are more than a mile wide. The five year wait for new Galderia music - definitely well worth it!
The title song 'Endless Horizon', floats in on a backdrop of female vocals, adopting a heavy, pulsating foot stomp with as much melodic intent as everything heard so far. The majestic swagger of 'Endless Horizon' (the song) is simply amazing, the band delivering, without a shadow of a doubt, their best work to date. And we're off again, 'Heart Of Mankind' stepping on the accelerator and steaming on at high velocity - the electric atmosphere causing a buzz of excitement among listeners everywhere. I've said it before, and I'm gonna say it again - the power driven power metal style is simply heavy metal heaven...and with bands such as Galderia churning it out song after song, heaven is a very attractive place right now! The band bring a corker of an album to a close with the mellower 'Twenty One', gently floating through the air like a cloud on a summers day. Lacking some of the oomph of the album to this point, 'Twenty One' is a sedate power metal stroll of infectious balladry mixed with hymn-like leanings.
Overall, an electrically charged power driven power metal march, featuring plenty of pace with a massive melodic edge.
