Dying World |
||||||
Full Assault are a thrash metal band from Germany formed in 2007 releasing their debut album 'Forgotten Blood Tales' in 2012, sophomore album 'War Blooded' in 2017, and third album 'Dying World' in 2024.
Following in the footsteps of the legendary Teutonic Four - Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and Tankard (for anyone who still doesn't know who the Teutonic Four are) - Full Assault deliver a bold, brash and brutal barrage of full on and in your face thrash metal guaranteed to bang the heads of even the laziest of head bangers! The bands new album features nine songs across forty frantic minutes of intense head bang ability...
...the German three piece launching 'Dying World' directly into the stratosphere with the fast and furious 'Final Dawn Of Light' complete with a raw, howling belt of a vocal performance! The speed of 'Final Dawn Of Light' will have the worlds head bangers rocking their heads back and forth at an extreme rate of knots, stretching neck muscles to breaking point! And beyond! And increasing the speed, 'Edge Of A Collapse' races outta the blocks at a hundred miles an hour, the brash, bold nature of Full Assault rising high in the air! As are fists too, every metalhead everywhere punching the air to salute an opening brace of all out thrash metal! And make that a treble, for 'Vengeance... Victory' maintains the albums harsh battery, the influence of the Teutonic Four undeniable as the Schwerin three piece roar on! And on, vigorously banging the head of every thrasher in the world.
And with no sign of the head bang ability disappearing any time soon, 'Dying World' gallops on with the fastest song heard so far, 'Signs Of The End' displaying a scorching pace as it hurtles across the land, destroying towns and cities with an incredible amount of force. Full Assault have been unstoppable since the album began, and I for one ain't even gonna try and stop 'em - I don't wanna be viciously trodden on and ground into pulp! And increasing the speed even more, 'All Hope Is Gone' is ferocity unleashed, the band bludgeoning listeners, fans and followers with a weighty barrage of savagery! Savagery that's gonna devastate the body, leaving cuts and bruises that'll need emergency medical treatment - but not just yet though, we're only half way through the album! Medical treatment can wait - for 'Planet Grave' enters the fray with more malicious intent than any other song heard so far! Speed, aggression and menace combine perfectly, 'Planet Grave' a pummelling powerhouse to leave every metalhead totally exhausted from all of the bands barbaric beatings!
Beatings that are far over from over - 'Never Hesitate...Eradicate' the next round of GBH dished out by the German thrashers! So come on fellow metalheads, find some energy from somewhere for the albums final threesome, 'Never Hesitate...Eradicate' adopting the more mid tempo style of thrash - for the first forty or so seconds anyway! And then we're back to the all out pace and power heard everywhere else previously, Full Assault fully living up to their name! The band are a full on and unforgiving thrash metal machine, relentlessly driving forward, armed to the teeth with a massive arsenal of explosive weapons - and by weapons I actually mean songs! Songs which have been exploding left right and fucking centre since 'Dying World' began, leaving behind a desolate wasteland which can only lead to an apocalyptic world - Full Assault hammering the senses with absolute menace as 'Apocalyptic World' takes off at high velocity! The aggression level here is higher than heard - or felt - anywhere else on the album, the band hurtling forward at an incredible speed, the final song looming large on the horizon. And for the final song 'Piece Of Cloth', Full Assault borrow a trait or two from traditional heavy metal, planting their feet firmly on the monitor to deliver a mid tempo gallop that metal traditionalists everywhere will enjoy, banging their heads in unison with every single thrasher in the world. And the sudden change of speed mid-song is electric, 'Dying World' finishing as strong, if not stronger than it began!
Overall, a barnstorming barrage of savage thrash metal, full of ferocity, brutality and an insane level of head bang ability.
