Reverse

Eagleheart are a power metal band from the Czech Republic formed in 2003 releasing their debut album in 2009. The bands second album, released in 2011 was produced by former Helloween guitarist Roland Grapow. Eagleheart have toured extensively over the years and have shared the stage with the likes of W.A.S.P. and Blaze Bayley. After some minor line-up changes, the band return with their third album, again produced by Grapow and featuring three singers. 'Reverse' was released in 2017.

Effects laden and atmospheric, 'Awakening' is a majestic and tense building intro, leading into the furious and frantic 'Until Fear Is Gone'. Displaying all the traits of the European power metal genre Eagleheart are back and doing what they do best...thundering along at pace with a catchy rhythm. Energy levels increase as 'Healing The Scars' romps in and races off at top speed. More aggressive than the opening song, 'Healing The Scars' frenetically forges a blazing trail through the airways. A cracking opening double salvo, followed by a mellow intro to the bustling 'All I Am'. Thunderous and foot stompingly heavy, 'All I Am' delivers a jack hammer style rhythm to pummel and pound the senses into submission. 'Palace Of Thoughts' increases the heaviness as it strides on, tall and proud, delivering a head bangingly addictive rhythm that will please every power metal fan everywhere.

Title song 'Reverse' is over six minutes of power/speed metal. Bombastic and very heavy, Eagleheart sit at the heavier end of the power metal genre, with every song a thunderous romp of aural delight. Since its inception during the early eighties, power metal has always been prominent from Germany with legendary pioneers Accept, Grave Digger and Helloween leading the way. Over the last twenty years, bands have emerged from many other European countries such as Italy, Sweden and Finland, with Eagleheart an exponent from the Czech Republic. Enlisting the help of former Helloween guitarist Roland Grapow as producer, Eagleheart have a legend of the power metal genre pointing them forward in the right direction. And just listen to the results. 'Erased From Existence' picks up the pace and flies by in a flurry of rampant riffs and galloping rhythms. Add touches of the epic and glory metal genres, 'Erased From Existence' is a listening delight and a definite highlight of the album.

Mid tempo and very heavy, with an opening riff that would not be out of place on a doom metal album, 'Mind To Decipher' soon picks up the pace and assumes an aggressive feel, as a more menacing vocal delivery accompanies the abrasive and in your face musical style. If you like your power metal heavy, then 'Reverse' (the album) is for you. With no ballads in sight, the album progresses with a more melodic approach, with 'Endless' a more hard rock offering. Catchy and infectious 'Endless' will appeal to a wider audience than any other song on the album. 'Enemy Within' sets an electrifying pace as it hurtles along at speed, guitars blazing a scorching trail across the airways. A cracking solo during the mid section break is a dream to listen to. Bringing the album to a close is the six minutes plus, speed metal gem 'Painting The Shadows By Light'. Thundering along at break neck speed, 'Painting The Shadows By Light' is catchy, sing a long-able and a memorable finish to a very good album.

Overall, power metal from the heavier end of the genre, Eagleheart deliver a bombastic and furious flurry of head bangingly addictive songs.
