Midnight Impulsion

Dressed To Kill are a heavy/speed metal band from China formed in 2014 who are inspired by the traditional sound of heavy metal that came out of the glorious eighties spearheaded by such icons as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. The band released the E.P. 'A Night In Trance' in 2017, and their first full length effort 'Midnight Impulsion' at the end of 2019.

With a sound very much heavily influenced by the iconic NWOBHM evolution, Dressed To Kill launch their debut album with the soft rock ambience of "Intro", before launching head long into a furious furore with 'Midnight Comes Around'. The pace and urgency is off the scale as it hurtles on at high velocity, scattering everything that stands in its way. 'Rose Of Kowloon' depicts the glorious buzz sounding guitars of the NWOBHM, the heavy hitting rhythm pounding very hard. And after just two songs, the band all the way from China, are proving themselves very adept at creating an atmosphere of traditional heavy metal so prevalent in Britain. "roll up roll up" is the feeling you get as 'Welcome To My Carnival' opens with a traditional carnival sound. The shuddering rhythm vibrates the ground, cracking floors and breaking walls with its resonance. This is turning into a glorious gallop of head bang able and addictive heavy metal.

Faster than a bullet, 'Breakin' Thru The Sky' picks up the pace and runs amok at high velocity. 'Breakin' Thru The Sky' is a Judas Priest inspired juggernaut of epic proportions as it savagely rattles and rolls to an end. Suddenly all pace and power ceases, and hard rock takes over in the shape of 'Rock On The Way Of A Dream'. A melodic march that marches on majestically, 'Rock On The Way Of A Dream' hits at just the right time to give you a breather from the pulsating power of the album...before blistering pace lights up the album again. The savage barrage of riffing 'Blade In The Night' dishes out lacerates the airways, and will devastate small cities as it envelopes the Earth.

An already blistering pace becomes a blazing one as 'Murder City' cuts and thrusts its way into view. Heavier and more aggressive than anything else on the album 'Murder City' hits hard, kicks harder, and will only leave desolation in its wake. With a swagger and a stagger, 'Queen Of The Light' storms in, recapturing the early eighties British heavy metal sound of bands such as Angel Witch, Raven and Samson. And now, what a song to end the album...the title perfectly describes the feeling that Dressed To Kill have created. 'Speed Metal Mania' is a rabble rousing, call to arms, hugely anthemic, fire and brimstone fury. The chant style chorus is highly sing a long able and will have fans all around the world singing as one.

Overall, a glorious gallop of NWOBHM inspired heavy metal, from start to finish the album is infectious and a joy to listen to.
