Summoning

Desecrator are a thrash metal band from Australia formed in 2008 releasing their self titled debut E.P. in 2010, followed by a second E.P. 'Down To Hell' in 2013. The bands first full length album 'To The Gallows' was released in 2017, with their sophomore album 'Summoning', a 2021 release.

Fast, aggressive, and in your face, clearly defines the bands attitude for thrash metal - Desecrator's second album is a ferocious roller coaster of ten fiery head bangers over a fierce forty five minutes. The album gets underway with the short tension filled intro 'Raise The Dead', before exploding into life with the blistering (title song) 'Summoning'. Fast paced and full of aggression, the chant style chorus is gonna be lapped up by a baying in concert crowd. What a belter to open your new album! And the belters just keep coming - 'Hate At First Sight' is an extremely high velocity rampage, featuring an aggression fuelled vocal display. The speed of 'Hate At First Sight' is phenomenal, with mosh pits all around the world going crazy...

...crazy for a band delivering full on thrash metal. With a 'South Of Heaven' style intro, 'Belly Of The Beast' builds to a crescendo, coming to life with an iconic sounding NWOBHM guitar sound - the chugging riff so addictive! The albums scorching pace is now mixed with a more mid tempo foot stomp as 'Belly Of The Beast' crackles and fizzes with high octane energy. Without pausing for a breather, the band power on with the quick 'Beg Steal Or Borrow'. And just where the hell in the universe do Desecrator find the energy and the speed??? Wherever it is, I believe they've been overdosing!!! Which is great for us metal heads - full on and breathless head banging...fuck yeah! And now lightning pace blazes a fiery trail, as 'Wipe The Slate' scorches the Earth as it races on by. The ground shuddering heaviness is out of this world, a fucking pleasure to listen to, and definitely one of my favourite thrash metal albums of the year - right up there with Paradox, Prestige, and Germany's Necronomicon,

And still there's no let up in the extraordinary pace and power of the album, Desecrator powering on with 'Manic' - the title a fairly good description! The band are delivering a bone snapping, neck breaking, skull crushing brand of thrash that is simply breath taking. Imagine a hybrid of the "Big 4", and the "Teutonic 4" - and you'll get some idea of the Desecrator sound. And now we have menace in abundance, as the band set about striking fear into the hearts of listeners with a sombre and very dark intro to 'A Light In The Dark'. All pace is dropped in favour of a brutal foot stomp that'll stamp all over you, sending you to the local A&E with cuts, bruises, and broken bones. The blistering pace of earlier makes an emphatic return with 'Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em', a savage barrage of full on thrash metal. And an in concert crowd has another chant style chorus to sing, growl, and scream along to. Fantastic stuff from the Aussie thrashers. Now all good things come to an end - and so does this album, but remember, there's always the replay button! 'The Devil You Know' brings 'Summoning' (the album) to a close with just as much energy and wham bam thank you ma'am as everything that has gone before. Desecrator have produced a cracking thrash metal album - definitely one of the years best.

Overall, blistering pace combined with high octane energy, Desecrator are thrashing harder than ever with their latest release.
