When Tomorrow Comes |
||||||
Deformity are a thrash metal band from Russia, formed in the 90's, influenced by the likes of Metallica, Slayer and Pantera.
The album opens on a crest of an almighty chunky guitar riff as 'Burn Them' rattles along at a mid tempo pace, fusing traits of Metallica and Pantera into a very heavy chug. A doom laden atmospheric intro welcomes 'When Tomorrow Comes' after which it is thunderous as it flies by. 'Alone' is very much a guitar driven stomp, 'Reflection Of The World' ups the tempo as it races by displaying a little bit of a Testament influence while 'The Life Is Better Than Love' slows the pace down to a near ballad-like feel, but it soon picks up the heaviness and chugs away Pantera-like.
Picking up the pace is 'Liars', an out and out thrash metal song with some cracking guitar work. Huge guitar riffs introduce 'Get A Life' a mid tempo metal romp with 'The Clone', a song full of dramatic time changes as it floats between thrash, power and traditional heavy metal. The album closes with 'The Lost Man', a mid tempo, very catchy song.
Overall, a cracking mix of thrash and power metal that will please fans of Metallica and Pantera.
