Betrayed By Thy King

(single)

Crimson Shadows are a melodic death/power metal band from Canada formed in 2006, releasing their 'Death, Power, Glory' E.P. in 2007. The bands full length debut album 'Glory On The Battlefield' was released in 2012, followed by a triumphant performance on the world stage at the 2013 Wacken Open Air festival in Germany.

A second E.P. 'Sails Of Destiny' was released in 2013, followed by the bands sophomore album 'Kings Among Men' in 2014. With their third E.P. 'Resurrection' due in the spring of 2020, Crimson Shadows have released 'Betrayed By Thy King' as a single.

If you haven't heard Crimson Shadows before, you're in for a bit of surprise... Primarily a melodic death metal band, complete with deep growled vocals, the bands music actually follows the power metal path - giving them the a sound that has been described as "DragonForce with death metal vocals". And to be fair, that's not a bad description.

At over eight minutes in length 'Betrayed By The King' sets out in a typically atmospheric, crescendo building, power metal guise, before letting rip in a blaze of blistering power metal riffage, and for harsh guttural vocals to come crashing in with enough force to decimate towns and cities. The pace doesn't let up at all, the ferocity of the vocal delivery cuts a savage path, and to be honest, the mix of death and power metal influences works fairly well.

Overall, a crushing, neck breaking, bone snapping, jaw dropping gallop of ferocity, 'Betrayed By Thy King' is a fierce rampage.
