Believe In This E.P. |
||||||
Collisions are a progressive metal & rock band from the UK, releasing their debut single in 2011. Distorted guitars and raw, high octane power is what drives their sound and draws comparisons to the likes of The Prodigy and Skindred. Following the release of the Believe In This E.P. in 2012, Collisions set about spreading their brand of rock across the UK in the live arena including supporting rap metallers hed(pe) on their European tour.
'Believe In This' opens the E.P. and is a hard hitting, raw, almost brutal stomp through awesome guitar riffing and melodic rock groove. Vocals are venomous, the melodies raucous and the song rattles along at a frenzied pace. 'Fire Fire' is full of angst and attitude as it smacks you around the head, and then stomps you on your head, just to make sure you are listening. Foot stomping, head banging and generally just going mad in the pit, this song is guaranteed to be a live favourite.
You may be forgiven for thinking the band have mellowed for 'Chasing Forms', but no, unafraid to experiment, 'Chasing Forms' is a lighter sounding song but still retains the bands' basic sound. More melody than the previous two songs, this is a catchy rock song with a cracking rhythm, infectious groove and smooth vocals. Power and aggression return in abundance on 'Push' as it pounds along with a thunderous almost brutal guitar sound and a venomous vocal performance.
Overall, a powerful, raw, hard hitting release that bulldozes the senses with relentless aggression and energy.
