Wings Of Steel E.P.

Burning Witches are an all female heavy metal band from Switzerland formed in 2015, who released their debut album 'Burning Witches' in 2017. The four song live E.P. 'Burning Alive' was released at the beginning of 2018, with the bands second album 'Hexenhammer' released at the end of 2018. At the beginning of 2019 the band re-released their debut album including, as a bonus, their live E.P. and titled this release simply 'Burning Witches + Burning Alive'.

Replacing their singer with former Shadowrise vocalist Laura Guldemond, Burning Witches have released the E.P. 'Wings Of Steel' - containing one new song, and three songs recorded live at the 2019 Wacken Open Air festival. The new song 'Wings Of Steel' is an aggressive, fast and furious barrage of "foot on the monitor" style heavy metal. The classic twin guitar attack and galloping rhythms, this is how the classic sound of traditional heavy metal, should sound.

As for the live songs, 'Executed' is a bombastic up tempo energetic gallop, made more energetic by the exhilaration of a live arena. New singer Laura has an impressive voice and she knows how to get the audience going. Jack hammer style riffing signals 'Open Your Mind', a heavy and raucous romp of heavy metal.

Title song off the current album 'Hexenhammer', makes a massive appearance, all six minutes plus of it. 'Hexenhammer' is a blistering foray of furious heavy metal guaranteed to keep fists punching the air from start to finish. The chant style chorus is lapped up by the crowd as the band show just how ferocious they are on stage.

Overall, a very good way to introduce their new singer - a polished studio recording and an energetic live performance.
