Tame & Conquer E.P.

Attractive Chaos are an Italian based melodic metal band formed in 2022 by bassist Pietro Paulo Lunesu (Even Flow, Wonders), vocalist Emma Elvaston (Beneath My Sins), and guitarist Clement Botz (Beneath My Sins), with Thomas Calegari (Asylum Pyre) on drums. The band released their debut E.P. 'The Fire Between Us' in 2023, with second E.P. 'Tame & Conquer' emerging just a year later in 2024...

...featuring six more songs of pure symphonic, highly melodious power metal! This time around, the band deal with the emotions that define us - hopes, ambitions and obsessions, all the while delivering a heavier blend of melodic metal than last years E.P. Opening with 'To The Moon', the band are immediately soaring higher than ever, delivering an out of this world opener to take your breath away - the bombastic oomph here is terrific, Attractive Chaos pounding the ground hard with immense authority! And to be honest, if you thought last years E.P. was good, this one's even better! And hitting harder than a heavyweight boxer throwing a haymaker, 'Magical Powers' thunders in with all the signs and sounds of a melodic death metal song - the thrashy beginning featuring a howling, growling vocal performance! But what amazes me more, is the bands effortless swing into symphonic power metal mode, 'Magical Powers' defying common sense by having one foot in the symphonic metal genre and the other in melodic death!

And Elvaston's voice too, faultless, and soaring so high I'm getting a nosebleed just thinking about it - 'Words On A Letter' the longest song on offer clocking in at over six minutes in length! More mellow than either of the two previous songs, a veil of serenity covers the E.P. as soulful vocals lead the way before a mighty mid tempo foot stomp shudders the tranquil atmosphere! 'Words On A Letter' boasts a sound that mixes a hymn-like swagger with balladry and an immensely melodic yet bold march, Attractive Chaos continuing to build their stature as an emerging force in the worldwide symphonic power metal scene - the band simply going from strength to strength, 'Finally' entering the fray with all the poise and purpose of classic European power metal! The band are at their most energetic here, an up tempo party feel pouring outta 'Finally' just like lava pours out of a volcano - Attractive Chaos just as red hot too!

Last years E.P. literally took my breath away, the bold majestic metal stroll, the alluring voice of the bands lead singer, the immense infectious level at which Attractive Chaos sail by on - all of these and more leaving me gasping for air! And right now I'm reaching for the oxygen tanks to relieve my distress, for I need to be fully aware as there's still two more songs to come! Can I make it? Damn right I can, I'm a professional - 'Right Now' chiming in as the heaviest song heard so far! The hustling, bustling nature across the songs first minute belies the bands massive melodious intentions, 'Right Now' resuming the amazing mix of symphonic and melodic death metal heard earlier. The band really are on fucking fire here, 'Tame & Conquer' E.P. definitely an E.P. to conquer the world! A world conquering E.P. that comes to a close with a guest vocalist, Gabriele Gozzi (Fallen Sanctuary, Eternal Idol) joining Elvaston on 'Obsession' - a song that brings a touch of the Mediterranean to the fore! Or Spain! Maybe Portugal! Or even a bit of Latin American samba, rumba or tango! Or some other cultural music that I can't quite put my finger on - either way, 'Obsession' features everything Attractive Chaos have in their locker, the dual vocal lead planting a different slant on the bands music.

Overall, a highly attractive E.P. of superb symphonic power metal featuring soaring vocals, memorable melodies and a sky high infectious level.
