Serenity E.P.

Archelaos are a heavy metal band from Canada formed in 2011, releasing their debut E.P. 'Serenity' in 2013.

Influenced by bands such as Chimera, Lamb Of God and Gojira, Archelaos hint at these bands across all five of the E.P.'s songs - the band melding every metal sound you can imagine into one aural assault of menacing melodic heavy come death metal! Opening with 'Prosthetic Youth', Archelaos are in mean mood, pounding the ground hard with aggressive, snarling vocals and riffs so brutal you're gonna end up with a tonne of cuts and bruises!

Not for the faint of heart, the band up the tempo and pace for the bludgeoning 'Rise Again', hitting listeners straight between the eyes with a punchy crunch savage enough to break bones and crush skulls! Again, the snarling vocals are aggression fuelled, and much like the music on show, will melt your face! Title song 'Serenity' maintains the previous songs increase in pace, thundering across the land with ferocity laden riffing and vocals that are now spitting venom!

There may only be five songs on offer, but Archelaos are making a huge impression, blowing great big holes in the ground with a devastating barrage of savagery - 'Decimation Cell' slowing the pace, yet retaining the E.P.'s overall heaviness. The growled vocals remain in force too, but there's a level of catchiness here that'll automatically bang your head and stomp your feet!

The fifth and final song 'Hexxus', brings together the sounds of traditional heavy metal and groove, the band stomping their way forward with high levels of menace, purpose and intent. Archelaos are gonna attract a very wide audience with their debut release, a very wide audience indeed!

Overall, very heavy, very brutal, ferocious metal with powerful growled vocals and great riffs. Brutal metal at its best.
