The Venom Within E.P.

Animator are a thrash metal band from the Republic Of Ireland, formed in 2005 under the name Heresy. Not to be confused with another band of the same name they changed their name to Animator in 2011, releasing their debut album 'Blacklisted' in 2013 and the four song E.P. 'The Venom Within' in 2017.

The bands debut album was full of crunchy riffing, rampant rhythms and pace that went from blistering to scorching in the blink of an eye. 'The Venom Within' E.P. offers much more of the same with the opening song 'No Consequence' setting a blinding pace right from the off. Topped off with a mildly aggressive vocal performance, Animator are back and are positively buzzing with energy.

The energy levels are kept high and also the intensity is increased as 'The Venom Within' blasts off like a rocket heading skywards at high velocity. The guitars are buzzing like a chainsaw, the drums are thundering and the raging rhythm will have you head banging hard. The mid tempo riffing that breathes life into 'Sticks And Stones' is simply majestic and demands a manic, foot stomping mosh pit. 'Sticks And Stones' may lack the ferocious pace of the opening two songs but it is a very heavy, very catchy and very infectious song.

At over six minutes in length 'Throwing It Away' brings the E.P. to a end in a flurry of heavy riffs, thunderous drums and a motoring rhythm just shy of top gear. The powerful vocal performances across all songs on the E.P. is clean, clear and, at times, aggressive and intimidating. With a dramatic change in speed and tempo, 'Throwing It Away' changes to top gear and races along at break neck speed, dropping a gear again as it strides off into the distance.

Overall, Animator are back and energetically thrashing very hard, with addictive rhythms, catchy riffs and a superb vocal performance.
