Infidel

Ambush are a heavy metal band from Sweden formed in 2013 releasing their debut album 'Firestorm', the following year. Encompassing a sound that mirrors the traditional heavy metal style of luminaries Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Saxon, Ambush released their second album 'Desecrator' in 2015. The band have taken their time to write and record their third album - and boy oh boy the wait was worth it...

...'Infidel' is a 2020 release, and is an absolute stunner, causing me to dribble from various bodily orifices, such is the albums sensational ability to pleasure the aural G spot multiple times! So let the first wave of sensations begin with the albums title song 'Infidel'. Immediately into its rhythm, 'Infidel' is a "foot on the monitor" styled romp, head bang able and one hundred percent infectious. Over the last few years there has been a glut of superb music to emerge from Sweden - Ambush following in the steps of the likes of Aerodyne, Crystal Eyes, Metalite and Storm Burner. The sensations move deeper with the highly energetic and bombastic 'Yperite'. Hitting harder than a thousand wrecking balls, 'Yperite' is a big riffing double entendre of hard rock! Pace and power return in scintillating style with the speedster 'Leave Them To Die'. Pounding hard and rocking harder, 'Leave Them To Die' will make you go weak at the knees and turn to quivering jelly like a shy and bashful teenage boy jabbering his way through his first chat up lines.

Ambush are literally ambushing you with Earth shattering metal anthems, the ten songs on offer, each one a belter. With a slight hint of the AC/DC style boogie, 'Hellbiter' is a toe curling experience of the most exciting kind. I can just imagine the crowd at an Ambush gig, all jumping up and down as one, such is the infectious nature of the 'Hellbiter' boogie! 'The Summoning' is a one minute instrumental teaser for the pummelling 'The Demon Within'. Turning on the pace and power, Ambush deliver an incredible experience with 'The Demon Within', pushing all the right buttons, penetrating the most sensitive parts of the human body! And oh my God - what a delight 'A Silent Killer' is... Hitting the sweet spot with a spurt, 'A Silent Killer' is a devastatingly superb stroke you wanna be pleasured with more than just the once...and that's why readers, the replay button was invented.

The album is a breathless listen, and moves up a gear with the exhilarating 'Iron Helm Of War'. The pace gets faster, moving heads back and forth at their fastest since the album began. 'Iron Helm Of War' is a galloping gourmet dish that you just want to feast on time and time again - each time more pleasurable than the last! As the album nears its climax, 'Heart Of Stone' swings in off the chandelier and lands squarely in the pleasure zone. 'Heart Of Stone' is a monumental mid tempo melodic masterpiece, worthy of fanatical worship. The album climaxes in a state of euphoria with the sonic assault of 'Lust For Blood'. Melodic heavy metal has never sounded so good. The rhythm, the feel, the sensations - this album has been overwhelming, and may well be the best forty one minutes ever spent in your bedroom - or any room wherever you prefer to listen to your music.

Overall, Ambush unleash one of the best albums of the year, loaded with sensational heavy metal anthems to give you wave after wave of pleasure.
