Rock Breaker

Ambition are a heavy rock band from Brazil, releasing their debut album 'Rock Breaker' in 2020.

Bringing an old school heavy metal feel to the modern day, Ambition recreate the atmosphere and awe of the early eighties with bands such as Saxon, AC/DC, Mama's Boys, Battleaxe and Budgie - even to the extent of a Budgie cover! So get yourselves ready for a heavy metal rock and rollercoaster ride of chest pumping, fists in the air old school heavy metal. Opening with the two minute atmospheric and cinematic crescendo building instrumental 'Ambition (Stronger Than Fear)', Ambition launch their debut in blistering style with the title song 'Rock Breaker'. An immediate sit up and take notice moment, 'Rock Breaker' (the song) is fast paced and full on metal to get your heads moving and fists punching the air in delight at such a bombastic blast. Come on everyone, all together now "rock breaker".

'Screaming In The Dark' moves the album forward in a more mid tempo heavy rock direction, Ambition after just two songs have shown their prowess to deliver fast paced "foot on the monitor" style heavy metal, and the much more mid paced melodic stomp. Variation is good, as long as it stays in the realm of rock and metal... And oh my God - what a cracking tune 'Play The Game Is'. Highly infectious and overly memorable, 'Play The Game' is melodic heavy metal of the highest order. Heads nodding, fists held high and everyone singing the chorus - this is gotta be a crowd favourite in a live arena. Sheer brilliance. And the infectious melodic vibe rolls on relentlessly with the heavy hitting 'Heroes Die Young'. Ambition are showing their passion for the eighties metal and rock sound - the eighties are a time that I grew up in, shaping my musical tastes for decades to come, and to hear bands recreate that whole atmosphere and spirit is incredible.

'Evil Burns' is a seven minute plus epic, adopting the booming anthemic metal sound pioneered by American icons Manowar. 'Evil Burns' is a mid tempo melodic monster. By stark contrast 'Finger On The Trigger' is more energetic, pounding away relentlessly as it wanders through the heavy rock genre. The musical direction of Ambition has been influenced by many bands, one such band is British heavy metal band Budgie, prominent throughout the seventies and into the early eighties. Ambition cover 'Heavy Revolution' from the bands 1980 album 'Power Supply'. Ambition do a really good job with their version, keeping to the pace of the original and beefing it up just a little bit. Final song on the album is another mid paced melodic monster, 'Fight For Your Life'. Highly infectious and brimming with energy, 'Fight For Your Life' brings the curtain down on a hugely impressive debut album.

Overall, a heavy hitting and hard rocking debut that is gonna appeal to fans of the eighties style of rock and metal.
