Against The Gods are a power metal band from El Salvador formed in 2024 by brothers Ed Franco (ex Analogy Of Life, ex Ignea Aeterna) and Oscar Franco (ex Ignea Aeterna) - the band completed by vocalist Edgard Velasquez (ex Analogy Of Life), drummer Hezir Rosales (ex Analogy Of Life) and Jose M Gutierrez (Icarus).    
             
The bands debut release is the single 'Fireborn', combining progressive elements within the bands power metal roots - "we are currently working on releasing a few singles, then an E.P. and a full length album" comments Ed Franco. A band with ambition and a plan, and definitely one to keep an eye on...or should that be keep an ear out for!    
             
Either way, right here right now, we have a new single to tingle our auditory senses from a band fresh onto the world stage - Against The Gods, and their first offering 'Fireborn'...    
             
...roaring outta the blocks at a hundred miles a fucking hour! Crikey 'Fireborn' is fast - very fast, reminding me of the European style of power metal. More specifically, early Helloween - and in particular the bands 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys' era.    
             
'Fireborn' is a sensational opening gambit from a band that sound hungry, with every power metaller everywhere devouring the bands immediate and head turning barrage. How long we have to wait for more Against The Gods music is gonna be an agonising wait - but one I'm damn sure will be worth it!    
             
Overall, a fast paced and mildly aggressive slab of power metal punch, 'Fireborn' is a stunning first entry onto the world metal stage.
