Soul Survivor |

Adrenaline Rush are a female fronted hard rock band from Sweden, formed in 2012 and releasing their self titled debit album in 2014. A number of line-up changes ensued with the band re-establishing itself and releasing their second album in 2017.
Bombastic, urgent and arrogant...the bands new album is set to deliver an adrenalin rush. The opening song off the album 'Adrenalin' rockets out of the traps and storms on through rampaging rhythms and riffs. Catchy and infectious, 'Adrenalin' is a barn storming opening. Hitting harder than a heavyweight world champion boxer, 'Love Is Like Poison' is sharp edged melodic hard rock at its finest. Clean and clear vocals, a galloping rhythm and a sing a long style chorus, Adrenaline Rush mean business, and boy do they deliver. Bringing the pace of the album down to a mid tempo stomp, 'Breaking The Chains' is all mean and moody, retaining the infectiousness of the opening double salvo. Sweden has yet another reason to be proud, as it has given the world another superb hard rocking hard rock band. The title song 'Soul Survivor' opens in more mellow style, with a soulful vocal delivery, atmospheric acoustics and most definitely a power ballad feel. Get those lighters out and start swaying from side to side. Picking up the pace, 'Stand My Ground' is punchy and hard hitting as it foot stomps majestically on and on. Pulsating rhythms and an infectious nature, 'Stand My Ground' is one of the best songs on the album and is so addictive you'll wanna just keep replaying it.
Swash buckling and full of blistering pace, ''My Life' is a delight for all the head bangers out there that wanna flex their necks and get crazy. Raise your fists high and punch the air in delight as 'My Life' races by in a furious volley of rampant riffs and raging rhythms. This is cracking stuff. Mid tempo and foot stompingly addictive, 'Break The Silence' is full of mood and angst, with a much more menacing vocal delivery than heard previously. Bold and brash, 'Break The Silence' has touches of the progressive thrown in too. With its chugging rhythm and heavy guitars, 'Sinner 2' blazes into life and swaggers on. The overall heaviness of the album is more in tune with the heavy metal genre rather than the melodic rock the band describe themselves as. Either way, 'Soul Survivor' (the album) is a sparkling display of hard hitting, sharp edged and infectious rock, or metal, or both!
Increasing the heaviness and introducing touches of the doom style of rock/metal, 'Shock Me' is a pounding foot stomp of heavy. Adrenaline Rush have the ability to swing from rock to metal with ease, all the time keeping the tunes catchy and infectious. With an injection of energy and intensity, 'Wide Side' blazes a trail of galloping rhythms and one hundred percent addictiveness as it races on at high velocity. You'll have to look long and hard to find albums that have this amount of infectiousness about them. In fact, this album demands to be replayed time and time again. With an (American rock legends) Aerosmith influence, 'Don't Wake Me Up' is bold, brash and arrogant all at the same time. Heavy and catchy, 'Don't Wake Me Up' is a mid tempo foot stomp of the highest order. Now, as the old saying goes "all good things come to an end", and so does this album. In fact, you could say the album comes crashing to an end, with the blistering and unbelievably infectious 'Crash'. Swaggering proudly, 'Crash' is energetic and frenetic, and the adrenalin rush comes to an end...time to hit the replay button and let's go again.
Overall, a superb album of melodic heavy rock and metal, catchy and infectious with sing a long ability, Adrenaline Rush are a band on the up and most definitely one to watch.
