44MAG are a thrash metal band from the USA formed in 1998.
The curiously titled 'Brain Douche' opens the album in a brutally aggressive style with spitting venom style vocals reminiscent of (Megadeth front man) Dave Mustaine. 'Die Tonight' continues the aggression with foot stomping rhythms, dramatic time changes and some awesome guitar riffs. 'Heroes Of The New Aeon' rattles and chugs its way relentlessly for over six minutes with some frenetic guitar work and furious vocals that at times are growled showcasing the singers vocal range.
The influence of Black Sabbath can be heard on '50 Miles' which is slow and heavy, with a fantastic throaty, rasping vocal performance. Nodding its head towards Megadeth is 'Overdose' another aggressively brutal rampage. 'Leviathan Smiled' is very catchy as it displays a kind of groove metal vibe. Picking up the pace is Slayer influenced 'Hands Of Misery', destined to become a mosh pit favourite as it rattles along.
'Mr. Rock N Roll' races along furiously. 'D.U.I.' is a heavy mid tempo chug with screaming guitars and a chorus that will be chanted by fans everywhere while album closer 'Rock Smoker' is another brutal romp with excellent vocals.
Overall, influenced by the likes of Black Sabbath, Megadeth and Slayer, this album is a heavy, aggressive, brutal rampage with a venomous vocal performance.
